All school grades pre-K through 8th grade are invited to attend this unique festival. The intention behind this event is to increase children’s interest in biking as a hobby that can be continued into adulthood! All participants will have a chance to win a brand new mountain bike donated by the NMMC Medical Staff and made possible by The Ski Shop in Van Buren.

Two tracks available for the novice or for the more experienced rider! 

TRACK 1: This track will feature skills appropriate for all ages. Bike skills of balance and precision will be used in all of these activities which will take place in the stadium area of the venue.

TRACK 2:

For the more experienced biker, Track 2 will take the participant on rugged mountain bike trails.  For ages 10 and older.

Participants  under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. All participants will meet at the wax building for instructions.

 PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A FREE PRIZE AND SNACKS AT THE EVENT.

Superhero 5K Fun Run/Walk

Location: Four Seasons Trail Lodge, Madawaska, Maine

Northern Maine Medical Center, in partnership with the Four Seasons Trail Association, is sponsoring a Super Hero fun run & walk. There will be a prize for the best Super Hero costume as well as 1st, 2nd & 3rd place event prizes.

Local Boy Scouts will offer a concession stand during the event.

Free T-shirts to first 100 participants.

Lifestyle Change Program

Join a nationally recognized diabetes prevention program also called a lifestyle change program.

NMMC is offering a course to the public that will assist you to incorporate healthy habits into daily life. Participants will learn about the composition of foods, how to cook healthier, how to make good choices when dining out & how to incorporate exercise on a regular basis.

Call your primary care provider for more information on how you can join & have fun on your journey to healthier living.
The initial information session is on May 3rd at 6 pm at Northern Maine Medical Center, Medical Library, followed by weekly classes at same time and same location.

The interactive class covers what to expect during the third trimester, labor and delivery, pain management and relaxation techniques along with newborn care and feeding.
