Fort Kent ~ Robin Damboise, Director of Human Resources at Northern Maine Medical Center (NMMC), announced on January 5, 2015, that Jill Daigle was selected as the Employee of the Quarter for the last quarter of 2014. Daigle is a registered nurse who has been employed by NMMC since 2001. She graduated from the Northern Maine Community College in 2001 with a degree in nursing. As a Registered Nurse (RN), Daigle has worked at Forest Hill and on the Medical Surgical Unit. In 2003, she began working in the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit where she continues to work. Daigle is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is cross trained in multiple other clinical areas such as the Emergency Room and endoscopy. She is a member of the Nursing Practice and Quality Council and a participant on the Patient Experience quality team.
As mentioned in the award nomination, Daigle is dedicated to her patients, coworkers and community. She is frequently seen volunteering at community events such as Fun Day, Rally in the Valley and the CAN-AM sled dog races.
As stated by a colleague, “I am comforted knowing that she might be involved in my care or treatment should I be a patient here or have a family member that is a patient. Employees like Jill make it an easy decision to choose NMMC for services”! Daigle’s name is often mentioned in patient satisfaction surveys and recognition letters from patients.
Candidates who are nominated for the Employee of the Quarter award must meet rigorous performance requirements. Applications are then reviewed by a committee of peers where the final selection is made. Daigle will receive a monetary gift from NMMC and the Medical Staff for her performance excellence and her photo will be displayed on a plaque for public display.
