Fort Kent ~ Robin Damboise, Northern Maine Medical Center’s (NMMC) Director of Human Resources, announced the nomination for the second quarter of 2017 for NMMC’s Employee of the Quarter honoree. Candidates who are nominated for the Employee of the Quarter award must meet rigorous performance requirements to be considered by the selection committee. Wayne Theriault was nominated and selected by his peers for the award based on his determination and persistence in a job well done. Joey Bard, Director of Facilities said, “We look up to Wayne for his expertise in plumbing and heating. Maintenance of the heat plant is a big responsibility, especially in a healthcare facility, and Wayne takes his role seriously.” Bard said Theriault takes great pride in his work and never hesitates to come in at all hours of the day or night to ensure the proper functioning of the chip boiler. The nomination described Theriault as making safety a top priority and knowledgeable about regulatory requirements.
Theriault has been employed at NMMC for eighteen years. He graduated from the Plumbing and Heating Program at Northern Maine Community College in August of 1999. Of his role and responsibilities at NMMC he simply said, “I love my job.” Theriault’s wife, Suzanne, is also employed at NMMC in the Child Psychiatry Unit. The couple has been very supportive of the work done in the Unit and have contributed games and other items for the children over the years. Wayne and Suzanne reside in Fort Kent. They are very proud of their two children and three grandchildren. In their leisure time, they enjoy camping and fishing. The honoree will receive a monetary gift from NMMC and the Medical Staff for his performance excellence and his photo will be displayed on a plaque in a public place of recognition.
