Jeff Zewe is a seasoned leader with more than 30 years of experience in health care. Most recently, he was President and CEO of Upper Allegheny Health System (UAHS) in western New York State along the Pennsylvania border, leading that organization through the challenging first months in the onset of the pandemic.

He began working with UAHS in 2011 in various roles prior to becoming President and CEO, including Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. He served as President of Excela Health – Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania from 2008 to 2010; Vice President of Patient Care Services at Excela Health – Latrobe and Frick Hospitals from 2006 to 2008; and Nursing Director at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh from 2000 to 2006.

Zewe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science of Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburg, and received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Point Park University, also in Pittsburg.

Alain Bois is the Chief Operating Officer at Northern Maine Medical Center (NMMC). He is a graduate from the University Of Edmundston School Of Nursing where he obtained an Associate Degree as a registered nurse in 1994. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and he is currently working on a Masters in Business Administration from the same University.

He began his nursing career at NMMC and held various staff nurse positions on the Medical Surgical Unit, ER, Psychiatry and Endoscopy. He later held administrative positions as shift nursing supervisor, Nurse Manager of Inpatient Psychiatry and Director of Nursing at Forest Hill Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.

He is an alumnus of the Hanley Health Leadership Development Program and a member of the American College of Healthcare Administrators, Future Leaders of Long Term Care. He is a recipient of the Nursing Community Recognition Award from the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Kris began his career in law enforcement with the Town of Van Buren. Kris attended college at the University of Maine Fort Kent. He graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and moved on to the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy. He retired from full-time law enforcement in 2014 and became the Store Manager at Pelletier Motors in Fort Kent and in July 2019 he was hired as an Account Executive and Licensed Commercial Insurance Agent for United insurance. Kris now oversees the Marketing and Communications for all of NMMC.

Jennifer J. Albert is a Registered Nurse and earned a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Prior to entering the field of nursing, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and worked as a biologist with a focus on vector-borne diseases. She worked in long term care and rehabilitation prior to joining the team at Northern Maine Medical Center where she is currently the Director of Medical Practices.

Ms. Albert is currently working towards achieving national certification in Infection Control.

Erin Pelletier, RN
Director of Nursing

Erin Pelletier currently serves as the Director of Nursing at NMMC. As a registered nurse for over 20 years, Erin has worked nationally in a number of capacities including staff nurse, group facilitator, department manager and director across specialties. While on a hiatus from healthcare in 2010, she was picking asparagus on a farm in southern Maine when she was called back to the nursing profession as a clinical nurse educator and has never looked back. She is passionate about learning on every level and believes that a life devoted to nursing is a life committed to some of our highest human values – solidarity, responsibility, generosity, and grace.

Erin received her nursing education from the University of New England and earned a Masters of Health Arts and Sciences degree from Goddard College in 2011. Her research interests include innovative teaching strategies, narrative medicine, and servant leadership. In the community, Erin sits on the nursing advisory boards of NMCC and UMFK and is an active member of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) committee at Fort Kent Elementary School. She also continues to teach basic and advanced cardiac life support to healthcare professionals, first responders, and citizens throughout the St. John Valley.

Sue Devoe is a registered nurse with 30 years of  experience. A graduate of the University of Maine at Fort Kent’s nursing program, she has spent most of her career in the areas of Quality, Risk, and Compliance at NMMC.

Sue is a lifelong resident of the Fort Kent area and enjoys volunteering, reading, and outdoor recreation in all of northern Maine’s beautiful seasons.
