Your treatment begins with a mental health admission assessment conducted by our caring professionals to determine if inpatient or outpatient services are best for your individualized care plan.

Inpatient Services

Inpatient admission allows patients to focus on recovery in a minimally-restrictive, compassionate environment where they can receive 24-hour care for behavioral and mental health challenges.

NMMC has two inpatient behavioral health units that are designed for short term treatment:

Our child/adolescent unit for youth 4-17 years old
Our adult unit for people 18 years and older.

During your stay with us, you’ll focus on recovery, managing your symptoms, overcoming any obstacles you may face and the next steps in integrating your new skills into daily life.

Our inpatient units treat a wide range of behavioral and mental health conditions including:

Acute anxiety and depression
Personality and mood disorders
Post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD)
Psychosis

What is the normal length of stay for inpatient services?
The length of the stay may vary, but the average stay is 3-7 days.

What can I bring to the inpatient units?
During your inpatient stay, we are dedicated to making you feel at home and as comfortable as possible. Don’t bring more than you would pack for a short, informal vacation. Bags, backpacks, purses will be locked up for safe keeping and can be accessed during your stay.

Can I or my child have visitors?
Yes, visitation from loved ones is healing and highly encouraged. Please call the unit for visiting hours and to learn more about any restrictions that may be in place. All visitors at NMMC need a pass from the front desk.

How much does inpatient care cost?
We accept most insurance plans so you can stay focused on you and your loved one’s health and not have to worry about cost. Check with your insurance company if you have any questions about coverage.
